Pricing:

Newborn Session Fee: starting at $150 (non-refundable) Covers 2-3 hours of the photographer’s time and talent, as well as the production of a minimum of 20 proofs for viewing in a private online gallery. This fee does not include any prints or products. Session fee is due at the time of booking. Credit cards, checks, and cash are accepted. A minimum order of $300 is required.

When and Where?

Book early! I offer a limited number of sessions per month to ensure I can give the highest amount of attention and quality to each family. Of course, we can’t always pinpoint a day because most babies come when they’re ready- but we will schedule based on your due date and adjust as needed. When you deliver, give me a call and we’ll nail down our plan! If you have an induction or c-section scheduled, we will be able to go ahead and pick an exact date/time for your photos.

The best time to photograph a newborn is before 2 weeks old. This gives you a bit of time at home to get settled. It is important that the session takes place before 2 weeks old so that we are able to capture the tiny, curly, sleepy stage that passes so quickly. Babies over 2 weeks old sometimes become more particular- not sleeping as much, sometimes a little more fussy and often starting to get a little baby acne.

Sessions take place on Wednesdays in my studio in the downtown Columbus area. I have a large collection of hats, diaper covers, headbands, and many more props for you to chose from.

The day of your session

I usually plan to spend 1.5 –  3 hours with you, depending on the cooperation of the baby- also allowing time for feeding breaks, diaper changes, and comforting. Older siblings are welcome to join for a few photos at the beginning of the session, though I ask that you have someone there to leave with them after we are finished with their photos. If you, the parents, would like to be photographed with your baby, I usually suggest that you wear solid colored shirts that are not white (consider long-sleeves). This looks the best as it is simple and timeless, not taking any attention away from the connection between parent and baby. Clothing is not needed for the baby, as I do all shots of the baby either naked or using a diaper cover.

After your session

My goal is to have your proofs ready as quickly as possible- rarely any longer than a week. Proofs are quick-edits which are cropped, color corrected, etc. Blemishes and other imperfections will be touched up after you place your order. You will have 1 week to place your order. After 1 week, a late fee of $25 will be added. I accept cash, checks, and credit cards (via paypal). Your order will be ready for pickup within 2-3 weeks, with the exception of specialty items which sometimes take a bit longer.
