Have you ever seen a more beautiful family?! I’ve had the pleasure of photographing them for several years. It’s so fun to watch them grow! Here is Mae… another very well-named baby! Love it!

Last for the week was Gabriel… whose parents love him in such an obvious and adorable way! After just the right amount of milk, he was O-U-T! His parents were amazed at how well he put up with us moving him around. This is where age comes into play… newborn sessions are best before 10 days old… it may take a little patience, but they almost always doze off with the right amount of milk in their tummies and heat in the room! The average time for a newborn session seems to be about 2 hours lately. Anyway, enough of that (can you tell I had an afternoon coffee?). Here’s Gabriel!

Rowan and his parents came next. We had a great time- they are so fun to be around! I have photographed this family several times (you may remember his cousin, Elliot, from Nov/Dec). These little guys will have such fun growing up together. Big sister Riley is still not super impressed with her new brother, so she hung out at preschool for a few hours while Rowan behaved perfectly for his photo op!

Good morning! What a fun and busy week this has been. Starting with an ice storm and ending with 3 newborn boys! It was not only nice to get out of the house after being trapped with wild children (!), but an extra special treat to photograph these little men. First, was Curtis- a perfect little model with perfectly sweet parents. I had a great time hanging out with his mom as we moved him from station to station… all the while he was sleeping peacefully!

Did you know that when you book a newborn session, you have the option of adding on a hospital mini-session? For me, the hospital experience is special: full of new beginnings and everlasting memories. I treasure the photos I have of my girls in the hospital. Unfortunately, the lighting is tricky and it would be easy for the average snapshot to look dark and grainy- lacking the beauty that those first few days hold. When you book your session, consider a hospital add-on. I will come by during the day at some point during your hospital stay and capture timeless images that will be added to your newborn gallery. These will also be posted on facebook (if desired) to share with your friends and family who are surely eager to get a glimpse of your new miracle! Contact me for more information!

Happy New Year! I’ve enjoyed a few weeks of rest and some sweet times with my family- and I hope you have as well. We had a relaxed and fun Christmas in Pensacola and came back just in time for the snow on Christmas night- what a gift! My mind has been in organizing mode for the last week and I’m now shifting over to “2 more days of no-school-fun-days” mode for the sake of my 2 big girls! I’m not sure what’s in store, as we’ve already done a dollar store trip (their favorite) and a movie (Tangled- loved it!) but I’m sure we’ll think of something. Possibly mini-golf- which will be a new adventure for us.
I will be back to business mode later this week, as I’m joining 2 other photographers in sharing a beautiful studio in downtown Columbus! This is such exciting news and an answer to prayer. Studio sessions lend to much more variety (as we have a TON of props) and flexibility with lighting, etc. I’ve already shot a few sessions there, and I must say- they are definitely in my all-time top 5 favorite sessions! I will be shooting and editing on Fridays, which makes life much more predictable and peaceful in the midst of 3 busy little girls and my on-the-go husband. Orders can be picked up at the studio at your convenience as well… which simplifies yet another aspect of your newborn’s photo experience! All-in-all, I am confident that this is a wonderful move for me- one that will bring more balance and stability to our home life and to Holly Tye Photography!
Can’t post without a photo, of course… My 3 little ladies at Callaway in November. We are a musical family for sure, and I just had to get something with these leaves!
